Welcome!

I'm Rigel Harris, a birth and postpartum doula based in Brooklyn, NY, and I have had the privilege of attending over 100 births across the tristate area.

I was born and raised in New Hampshire and later moved to New York City, a place I now call home, after graduating from Skidmore College with a degree in theater and dance. My background in the arts has deeply enriched my approach to doula work, bringing creativity, empathy, and a sense of calm to the birth experience.

My decision to become a doula was inspired by a personal experience where a designated advocate provided me with unwavering support during an incredibly vulnerable time. This profound encounter opened my eyes to the essential role of doula work —someone who not only offers compassionate and grounded care but also can act as a staunch advocate for you and your family when you may not be able to advocate for yourselves.

Being a doula has been my greatest teacher and the greatest gift I've ever given to myself, and I feel profoundly grateful to the families who have let me into one of the most transformative seasons of their lives.

I support all birthing bodies and experiences, no questions asked. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions or to set up an intake call, I look forward to hearing from you!
